DESCRIPTION: Length up to 4mm. Another small but beautiful Weevil identified by the overall dark appearance, the dark legs and orange tarsi and the orange yellow scales at the side of the pronotum.  The elytra have pale patches of hair with darker markings and a couple of central creamy markings. BEHAVIOUR: Adults are slow moving and easily spotted on the host where they leisurely feed. DISTRIBUTION: Locally common in southern England, becoming scarce further north. HABITAT: Found wherever Figwort grows such as open wet meadows, pond margins, riversides, ditches and hedge banks. PERIOD: Best seen throughout the summer months.
